10th Annual Phoenix Fetal Cardiology Symposium
November 7-11, 2019
Scottsdale Plaza Resort
The 10th Annual Phoenix Fetal Cardiology Symposium is a four-day conference that will discuss important concepts in congenital heart disease as well as the most recent advances in imaging, diagnosis and management of fetal cardiac abnormalities. Several lectures will focus on the emerging specialty of fetal therapeutic intervention and the related cardiac implications. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit and present scientific abstracts focused on fetal cardiac disease as well as challenging cases of fetal cardiac disease. Breakout workshops including 3-4D echo volume manipulation, hands-on scanning of cardiac and extra-cardiac lesions, and Doppler assessment techniques are planned. Three pre-conference tracks will be offered on Thursday, November 7, 2019. A newly created pre-conference track designed for sonographers will focus on prenatal cardiac echocardiographic screening of congenital heart defects. This course will primarily be an extended hands-on scanning learning session giving sonographers the opportunity to scan live patients alongside course faculty. A second pre-conference track on fetal and neonatal cardiac pathology has been redesigned to emphasize the echocardiographic correlation with pathologic specimens and give attendees the opportunity for supervised examination of the pathologic specimens. A final pre-conference track designed for fetal cardiology nurse coordinators will discuss patient education materials, meeting the psychosocial needs of the patient, and other topics allowing time for collaborative discussion. Lectures, procedure demonstrations and interactive case study formats will focus on expanding evidence-based care management strategies for clinical decision making. Speakers are nationally and internationally prominent experts, creating an authoritative learning venue for fetal cardiology and fetal cardiac imaging. This symposium has been designed for physicians including pediatric cardiologists, maternal fetal medicine specialists, obstetricians, neonatologists, radiologists, geneticists as well as sonographers, nurses, and other paramedical colleagues and trainees. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and Phoenix Children's Hospital. The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson designates this live activity for a maximum of 34 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. If you would like more information or experience issues when registering, please contact Nikki Hicks, Symposium Organizer, at fetalcardio@phoenixchildrens.com or (602) 933-0099.

March 23 – 25, 2020
London, UK
Overview This three-day course takes registrants from the basics of normal hearts and simple congenital malformations, through to the more complex defects and the conduction system, with live video demonstrations. This unique course is recommended for all professionals who manage and treat patients with congenital heart disease. It allows participants to appreciate the arrangement of the malformations in 3D. Our highly experienced team of tutors includes surgeons, pediatric cardiologists and pathologists who will provide guidance tailored to the needs of the participant. EBAC 18CME and 18 CPD credits. To allow for an optimal tutor attendee ratio at the practical sessions, we have to limit the number of participants for the full course. Register early to avoid disappointment. This is the original hands-on cardiac morphology course in London and has been running successfully now for 25 years. The course programme is endorsed by: the British Cardiovascular (this links to the Cardiology Curriculum: 3.1 Advanced Adolescent and Adult Congenital Heart Disease, 3.5 Interventional Cardiology, 3.10 Advanced Transthoracic Echocardiography). the ESC WG Developmental Anatomy and Pathology Morphology of congenital heart malformations. Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA
Date & Location Thursday, April 30, 2020, 7:30 AM - Saturday, May 2, 2020, 5:00 PM, Bechtel Conference Center, Encina Hall, Stanford University, Stanford, CA Overview This symposium will provide an introduction to pediatric and congenital echocardiography and the imaging of congenital heart diseases. It takes a unique approach that combines learning cardiac morphology from pathologic specimens and relating this knowledge to echocardiographic evaluation, both preoperatively and postoperatively for patients with congenital heart disease. The main goal is to improve the knowledge and competence of physicians and sonographers who perform and/or interpret echocardiograms in newborns and children with suspected or actual congenital heart diseases and those who perform echocardiographic studies in adults with repaired congenital heart disease.
